Annual Report 2010-2011

After the Strategic Planning carried out in the second half of 2010, CEDAR has started implementing policies and focusing on operations:

  • Select several poorest countries as focus countries, retaining local partners capable of running comprehensive development programmes.
  • Encourage/assist these partners through professional training and partnership support.
  • Mobilise and encourage Hong Kong churches and Christian groups to respond to poverty and injustice locally and elsewhere.
  • Networking with different organisations, strengthening communication and cooperation, enriching programme diversity, and taking action to effectively respond to poverty and injustice.

2010 to 2011 is a year of thanksgiving and anticipation. While we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of CEDAR Fund, we have not forgotten to count God’s multitude of grace. We are thankful that God gave our staff the opportunities to join Him in His good work, building a strong team to participate in the ministry. We give thanks for our partners serving faithfully in the front line who witness the transformation of individual lives and communities. ‘In Christ we build a just and compassionate world together.’This is CEDAR’s recently refined and reiterated vision statement. CEDAR’s mandate is to encourage and empower churches and individual Christians to live out this vision.  Justice and compassion signifies the presence of the Kingdom of God, and the church is an important agent to propagate it through our presence in the world as a ‘show home’ of sort, if you will.  We recognise that there are many Christians in myriad sectors doing their best to live out integral mission, bringing words and deeds together, transforming their own lives and others’….
