NGO Ban Hurting Undocumented Rohingya in Bangladesh

[ePrayer – Pray for the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh]

Bangladesh’s government banned NGOs to work at two makeshift sites sheltering 4,000 undocumented Rohingya refugees in southeasten district four months ago in order to avoid any fresh influx. Prior to the government ban, conditions in the makeshift camps were described by NGOs’ physicians as ‘among the worst they had ever seen’. Most people are housed in ramshackle huts made of twigs and plastic sheeting, denied food aid, and live beside open sewers. ‘The situation here is very bad, it’s horrific,’ a local nutrition volunteer said. ‘Because of the ban, it’s harder for us to help the Rohingya,’ another aid worker confirmed. Pray for the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh:

  • UNHCR has repeatedly called on Dhaka to lift the ban. Pray that the ban will be lifted finally;
  • Pray for God’s mercy, justice and provision to the affected Rohingya refugees.
