Pray and Support Community Medical Ministry in Shanxi, China
CEDAR’s partner Shanxi Evergreen Service (SES) have started their medical training to local medical workers in rural and urban areas, devoting to implementing medical ministry and community development programmes in Shanxi since 1993. In 1995, CEDAR started to support their medical ministry, such as training of village doctors with a focus on maternal and child health, and hypertension, diabetes screening and education programme to factory workers in Yuci area.
In the beginning of 2014, SES launched a new programme in Taiyuan and Yuci, encouraging local hospitals, home for the aged and churches to develop day-time care service to the aged people. SES has provided related profession training to those organisations, in order to respond to the medical rehabilitation needs of the aged patients with chronic disease or mobilization problem.
Besides, in the past six months, SES also outreached to three local medical service centres and home for the aged regularly, providing home care to the aged patients with chronic disease or action inconvenience, and rehabilitation services to patients suffer from hemispheric, stroke or disability.
In the next stage, SES will actively seek the opportunity to build up partnership with Taiyuan Municipal No.2 People’s Hospital, providing comprehensive home care and rehabilitation training to the aged.
Pray for the medical ministry in Shanxi:
- Pray that SES will have good and steady partnership with Taiyuan Municipal No.2 People’s Hospital;
- Pray that the new programme will help to respond to the medical needs of the elders in Shanxi’s township effectively.
